Description
Job Title: Key Master
Pay: $15/hr.
Shift: Varying
The Key Master ensures safe storage of customer car keys during valet operations, while delivering service that exceeds our customer/client’s expectation. The Key Master is responsible for greeting guests, issuing tickets, and organizing and storing customer keys. The Key Master works closely with fellow team members, Operations Manager, and/or Shift Manager to ensure that quality and safety standards are always met.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet arriving and departing guests in a friendly and courteous manner
- Receive incoming keys from valet or incoming customers/clients/visitors
- Mark incoming keys with identifiers including vehicle location code, and vehicle information (via paper tag, electronic tag, ticket, etc.); store in designated area (key room, key box, valet station, etc.)
- Ensures safety of keys on the designated key room, key box, or valet station by properly locking the stored area, never leave assigned location without being relieved by supervisor or designated employee
- Issue correct keys to valet drivers for outgoing customers
- Monitor electronic system/location operation for incoming notification of vehicles needing to be pulled down
- Perform regular audit to verify number of checked in vehicles and number of keys in key room
- Use respectful communication to assist guests with their questions, problems, and concerns, relay information to Operations Manager or Shift Lead as necessary
- Immediately report any accidents, incident or safety concerns to Operations Manager or Shift Lead
- Stand for extended period of time, and sometimes for entire duration of shift
- All other duties as assigned
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Ability to verbally communicate with guests
- Problem Solving – Ability to think quick and resolve issues efficiently
- Strong attention to details.
- Security Awareness
- Strong organization skills
- Previous valet parking experience a plus
- At least 18 years of age
- Previous customer service experience, preferred
- May be required to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- The role involves working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Requires frequent communication with valet attendants, management, and guests.
