What you’ll be doing

 

Application Engineering and Shared Platform provides modern software driven banking experiences for CIBC's personal and small business banking clients by putting our clients at the center of all that we do. As a Sr. Consultant, Database Management, you will be primarily involved in database development to deliver business and infrastructure changes. You’ll be performing development, testing, performance tuning, reporting, capacity planning as well as designing and implementing physical database model. You will provide subject matter expertise in production and non-production databases.

At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time. You’ll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you’ll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.

How you’ll succeed

  • Oracle Database Development- Primarily development oriented, with an emphasis on PL/SQL and SQL development. Develop best practices in database design and development. Recommend opportunities for improvements, including database modernization, optimizing existing code and improvements on new development.

  • Analytical Thinking- Analyze data-related system integration challenges and propose appropriate solutions. Manage multiple tasks and setting priorities, be part of a dynamic team which is often managing simultaneously multiple projects. 

  • Relationship Building- Build strong relationship with all technology partners required  with professional high quality team building for the assigned portfolio. Liase and interact with Architects, Solution design, Development and QA as part of the daily management of the portfolio.

 

Who you are

  • You can demonstrate 8-10 years of experience in. Application support, application delivery process as an Oracle Database Administrator/Developer. Must have expert knowledge of Oracle database concepts, Strong PL/SQL development and tuning skills. Good UNIX scripting knowledge. Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently with excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills. Good to have knowledge in Microsoft Azure Cloud technologies (Azure Data Factory, DataBricks, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure Blob, Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, Azure Synapse, Azure Data Catalogue/Purview). Experience with development and automation tools (Maven, Jenkins, GitHub, Bash scripting).
