Job Description:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, and maintain the machines, tanks, tools and equipment
- Spray or immerse parts in cleaning solutions, sealants, paint strippers and corrosion-preventive chemicals
- Prepare the surface using wire brushes, chemical sprays, cloth wipes, water, degreasers, wet hone and various media blast
- Measure, mark and mask areas of parts to be excluded from coating
- Spray prepared surfaces with specified amounts of primer and decorative or finish coatings
- Mix and test chemical solutions to immerse metal parts into
- Use calibrated tools to ensure to proper coating thickness
- Operate hoists to immerse parts, and hang parts to dry
- Touch up spots that may have been m
- Transfer parts using hand pushed carts, and operate large commercial oven to bake coatings onto the parts
- Use proper personal protective equipment
- Follow prescribed safety regulations while maintaining the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition
- Coordinate with Management and Inspectors to ensure compliance with FAA and internal quality standards
Work Enviroment:
- High level of noise
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to vapors and contaminants in the tank area. Proper PPE must be used at all times.
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or an equivalent
- Some experience using tools
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Proficient in the English language
Skills and Abilities:
- Basic math skills equivalent to 8th grade arithmetic
- Follow and complete work and router instructions
- Team oriented
- Results driven
- Attention to detail is imperative
- Organize, plan and prioritize
Physical Abilities:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Visual color discrimination
- Stand for extended periods of time
