Essential Responsibilities
- Oversee the successful delivery of new-build light industrial construction projects from pre-construction through project closeout
- Promote and support the company's safety culture, ensuring project compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements, regulations, and company standards
- Develop, maintain, and monitor project schedules, ensuring key milestones are achieved and proactively addressing potential delays and risks
- Manage project budgets, cost forecasting, change management, and financial reporting to ensure projects are delivered within approved budgets
- Coordinate and manage subcontractor and supplier procurement activities, including scope development, tendering, bid evaluations, negotiations, and contract awards
- Lead contract administration activities, including the review, negotiation, and execution of contracts, subcontracts, and change orders
- Collaborate with clients, consultants, municipal authorities, and project stakeholders to facilitate project approvals, issue resolution, and successful project execution
- Establish and maintain project controls, including cost tracking systems, reporting procedures, document management, and project administration processes
- Manage project risks through proactive identification, assessment, mitigation planning, and resolution strategies
- Support field operations teams by ensuring project resources, materials, equipment, and information are available to achieve project objectives
- Maintain strong working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and suppliers throughout the project lifecycle
- Support and promote the company's core values of safety, quality, integrity, sustainability, and operational excellence
Qualifications
- 5+ years of construction experience as a Project Manager
- Experience managing new-build light industrial, warehouse, manufacturing, distribution, or similar commercial construction projects
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience
- Demonstrated experience managing projects from pre-construction planning through construction and project closeout
- Strong understanding of construction documents, drawings, specifications, schedules, contracts, and modern construction practices
- Proven experience managing project budgets, forecasting, cost controls, and financial reporting
- Comprehensive knowledge of contract administration, subcontract management, procurement, and change management processes
- Strong understanding of construction safety programs, OH&S legislation, and environmental regulations
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel to project sites as required
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
