Job Description:
Responsible for providing assistance to special education teachers; assists in instruction, medical and health needs of special education students (preschool-age); provides some clerical support. The location of this position is based on student need and is subject to change as needed Essential Physical Requirements: ● Occasional lifting of 40 to 70 pounds ● Frequent bending, standing, sitting, walking ● Occasional reaching, kneeling, bending, squatting, or standing ● Performs other related duties as assigned or requested ● Ability to run short distances
Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsibilities:
--- Assist students with daily functions such as food preparation, hand over hand or tube feeding, toileting; etc. collaborates and consults with special needs team and other specialist
--- Perform other related duties as assigned or requested.
--- May provide assistance with a variety of daily functions such as behavior support as well as life skills instruction
--- Document health related services in designated Medicaid documentation system for the DCSD School Medicaid Reimbursement Program as assigned.
--- Implement daily and long range lessons
Certifications:
First Aid & CPR Certification - American Heart Association
Education:
High School or Equivalent (Required)
Skills:
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with all stakeholders to support positive outcomes, Demonstrated computer skills including word processing, database and spreadsheets, Maintains a generally positive attitude., Observes all District policies and procedures., Strong organizational and time management skills, Verbal and written communication skills in English and a demonstrated ability to read and comprehend written/graphic and oral instructionsPosition Type:

$19.84 USD - $30.55 USD Hourly- All salary amounts listed above are based on a full-time (1.0) FTE. If applicable, part-time salaries will be prorated according to the assigned FTE.
