Job Description

Fresno Summit Advisors is partnering with this company to support hiring for this role. About Health Payment Systems, Inc. (HPS/PayMedix)
Health Payment Systems, Inc. (HPS/PayMedix), is redefining how people access and pay for healthcare. We bring together provider networks, payments and financing, and industry partners to remove financial barriers and simplify the healthcare experience for everyone involved.

Our team is solving one of the biggest challenges in healthcare: the flow of money and information between providers and consumers. The work we do improves access, reduces financial stress, and is reshaping how healthcare works at its most fundamental level.

Our solutions include:

  • HPS Network: a high-performing, independent provider network in Wisconsin that helps employers control costs while maintaining strong access to care.

  • PayMedix: a national healthcare payments platform that pays providers in full, consolidates medical information and billing, and offers members interest-free financing for all in-network costs

  • TempoPay: a flexible healthcare benefit solution that gives eligible individuals a simple, predictable way to pay for care over time, with zero interest or fees.

Join us in our mission to make the healthcare payments experience simpler, more transparent, and more connected – so people can focus on getting care when they need it, not when they think they can afford it.

About The Role
The Provider Operations Supervisor leads day-to-day provider operations, owning performance across key workflows including provider data maintenance, portal access, ERA enrollment, and escalations.

You will be accountable for maintaining service levels and owning Zendesk queue operations, including ticket triage, resolution of complex issues, and consistent SLA adherence. You will drive workflow efficiency and ensure accuracy across all provider-facing processes. You will serve as a subject matter expert, partner cross-functionally to resolve provider issues, and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including the No Surprises Act. Success in this role is defined by strong execution, end-to-end ownership of issues, and the ability to scale processes while delivering a high-quality provider experience.

This role reports to the Provider Relations team manager and operates on a hybrid schedule, with 2–3 days per week onsite at the HPS Milwaukee office.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Own Provider Operations End to End: Lead day-to-day execution of provider workflows and ensure timely, accurate support with minimal supervision.

  • Manage & Work the Queue: Prioritize and actively resolve Zendesk tickets, including complex provider issues.

  • Leadership: Direct daily work, support team members, and drive accountability to performance standards.

  • Handle Escalations: Serve as the point of contact for complex provider issues and drive resolution end-to-end.

  • Improve Processes: Identify gaps, streamline workflows, draft and maintain SOPs, and support rollout of new tools and systems.

  • Oversee Data & Vendors: Ensure provider data accuracy and manage third-party vendor performance.

  • Track Performance: Monitor key metrics (volume, SLAs, backlog) and drive continuous improvement.

  • Flexible Contribution: Support evolving team and business needs through additional duties as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare operations, specifically in environments supporting healthcare providers (provider ops, credentialing, enrollment, or similar)

  • 2+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory capacity

  • Hands-on experience using ticketing systems such as Zendesk or similar platforms, along with strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office. The primary expectation within these systems is effective ticket queue management, clear ownership of active issues, and the ability to independently triage and resolve high-priority matters (“fires”) with minimal supervision.

Key Attributes for Success

  • Drives Results with Strong Attention to Detail: Takes full ownership of provider operations, drives work forward proactively, and delivers accurate, high-quality outcomes without waiting for direction.

  • Problem Solver: Willing and able to dive into the work, resolve complex issues directly, and systematically improve how problems are solved.

  • Team Collaboration & Adaptability: Communicates clearly and professionally, enabling effective teamwork by listening first, understanding context, taking feedback well, and collaborating across teams and departments while adapting as processes and systems evolve.

Other Important Details

Compensation:

  • Base salary range: $60,000 - $65,000 depending on experience

  • Benefits: medical, dental, vision, HSA with company contribution, 401k/Roth with company match, 15 days of PTO, and more.

Hybrid Work:

  • 2-3 days onsite at the HPS/PayMedix office

We consider applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable law.
