Job Description

ABOUT FTAI AVIATION LTD. (NASDAQ: FTAI)

FTAI owns and maintains commercial jet engines with a focus on CFM56 and V2500 engines. FTAI’s propriety portfolio of products, including the Module Factory and a joint venture to manufacture engine PMA, enables it to provide cost savings and flexibility to our airline, lessor, and maintenance, repair, and operations customer base. Additionally, FTAI owns and leases jet aircraft which often facilitates the acquisition of engines at attractive prices. FTAI invests in aviation assets and aerospace products that generate strong and stable cash flows with the potential for earnings growth and asset appreciation.

FTAI operates globally and has offices in New York, Miami, Montréal, Singapore. Dubai, United Kingdom and Ireland.

ABOUT FTAI POWER

FTAI Power is a new and rapidly growing platform within FTAI Aviation dedicated to converting CFM56 jet engines — the most widely produced commercial aircraft engine in history — into 25-megawatt aeroderivative gas turbines engineered to deliver reliable, flexible, and rapidly deployable power to data centers and AI hyperscalers worldwide.

Launched in December 2025, FTAI Power was built in direct response to the unprecedented surge in electricity demand driven by artificial intelligence infrastructure. As AI hyperscalers and cloud operators face multi-year backlogs to secure traditional grid connections, FTAI Power offers an immediately scalable alternative: a modular, 25-MW turbine that can be deployed quickly, operated flexibly, and maintained using the same world-class MRO infrastructure FTAI has built over decades in commercial aviation.

The CFM56 — with over 34,000 engines delivered globally — is the ideal candidate for aeroderivative conversion. FTAI Power remanufactures the proven CFM56 core and adapts it with aeroderivative components using a proprietary conversion architecture developed over more than a year of engineering. The result is a compact, high-reliability gas turbine that gives grid operators and data center owners finer output control than large-frame alternatives, with a conversion cycle of just 30 to 45 days per unit.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Technical Product Manager with deep roots in aerospace hardware engineering to own the full lifecycle of complex hardware programs — from concept and design through certification, series production, and field deployment. You will bridge engineering, operations, and commercial teams to bring flight-critical hardware to market on schedule and at quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and maintain the product roadmap for hardware programs, from initial requirements capture through entry into service and follow-on variants.
  • Serve as the primary integration point between systems engineering, design, manufacturing, supply chain, certification, and commercial stakeholders.
  • Author and own product requirements documents, design-to-cost targets, key performance parameters, and acceptance criteria.
  • Lead gate reviews (PDR, CDR, PRR, TRR) and drive closure of open items across functional teams.
  • Manage the manufacturing readiness transition — from prototypes and qualification articles to rate production — including tooling, yield, and first-article inspection sign-off.
  • Own the hardware risk register; proactively identify technical, schedule, and cost risks and drive mitigation plans.
  • Coordinate with regulatory and DER teams to plan and execute FAA / EASA certification activities, including TC/STC programs.
  • Track program KPIs (cost, schedule, quality escapes, OTD, DPPM) and report status to executive leadership.
  • Support pricing, make-vs-buy analyses, and supplier selection for key hardware commodities.

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering (or equivalent technical discipline).
  • 8+ years in aerospace hardware development, with at least 3 years taking a hardware product from design to production.
  • Direct experience with FAA or EASA certification processes (Part 21 / Part 33 / Part 25 or similar).
  • Hands-on familiarity with manufacturing processes: machining, casting, composites, welding, additive, or assembly as relevant to the product line.
  • Strong command of systems engineering principles: FMEA, FTA, requirements traceability, interface control.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence without direct authority.
  • Experience managing external suppliers and sub-tier manufacturers.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with propulsion, actuation, avionics, or structural components on commercial or military platforms.
  • Prior role in MRO, aftermarket, or PMA parts development.
  • Exposure to Lean / Six Sigma manufacturing ramp activities.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 / AS9102 / NADCAP quality systems.
  • Experience with PLM/ERP systems (e.g., Teamcenter, SAP, Oracle).
  • DAR or DER designation, or close working relationship with designated engineers.
  • MBA or formal product management training a plus.
