Job Specific Competencies:
- The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performing basic accounting procedures, e.g. A/R, A/P, G/L, tax payments and inventory control
- Preparing financial statements, e.g. monthly and quarterly financial reports
- Month-end and quarterly closing (divisional income statements, physician productivity statements, and company-wide income statement and balance sheet)
- Analyzing and reconciling general ledger accounts and investment transactions in conjunction with preparing monthly reports for management
- Assisting with the annual financial and 401K audits by assisting with the liaison functions of the department
- Communicating with divisional managers and shareholders regarding any financial statements questions
- Producing financial data for management team upon request and assisting with other special accounting projects from time to time
- Strives for continuous quality improvement.
- Participates in educational experiences designed to maintain and/or improve professional competence.
- Maintains high work ethic standards.
- Provides quality customer service to staff, patients and visitors at all times.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field required, or high school diploma and work experience may be substituted for the education requirement
- 2+ years progressive accounting experience in public accounting or similar work environment
- None required
- Strong organization, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Strong computer aptitude, which includes expertise with Microsoft Excel and Word as well as experience with accounting software and general ledgers
- Analytical skills with particular attention to detail
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Normal medical office environment. Requires working occasional evening and weekend hours. Occasional stress due to high work volume, deadlines and multiple assignments.
