Marsh Risk Consulting is seeking a talented engineer or risk professional to join our Property Risk Consulting team in Sydney. This role offers the opportunity to work with some of Australia's leading organisations across manufacturing, mining, power generation, logistics, infrastructure, healthcare, education, and commercial property sectors.
As a trusted advisor, you will help clients identify, assess, and manage operational and property-related risks, supporting improved resilience, business continuity, and insurance outcomes.
What You Will Be Doing
- Conduct property risk assessments and engineering surveys across a diverse range of industries.
- Evaluate fire, explosion, natural catastrophe, machinery breakdown, and business interruption exposures.
- Review facilities against recognised standards including FM Global, NFPA, Australian Standards, and industry best practice.
- Prepare technical reports, risk improvement recommendations, and client presentations.
- Analyse loss scenarios, critical asset vulnerabilities, and operational risks.
- Support clients in implementing practical risk mitigation and resilience strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, insurers, brokers, and industry stakeholders.
- Contribute to business development opportunities and support the growth of Marsh Risk Consulting.
What You Need to Have
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- 2+ years of experience in property risk engineering, loss prevention, industrial consulting, asset integrity, reliability engineering, or a related field.
- Must have a valid Driver's License
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent report writing and communication skills.
- Willingness to travel for site-based assessments across Australia.
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Experience within mining, energy, manufacturing, logistics, utilities, infrastructure, or heavy industry.
- Knowledge of FM Data Sheets, NFPA standards, Australian Standards, or equivalent international codes.
- Experience conducting technical audits, inspections, risk assessments, or engineering studies.
- Understanding of business interruption, operational resilience, and enterprise risk management.
- Consulting or client-facing experience.
