
Student Support Specialist/Autism Support
Job Description
Description: Support students, families, and staff in the area of social/emotional learning and communication, including students with autism
Specific Responsibilities include:
- Direct support of students with autism or other similar behavioral needs
- Monitors the implementation/overall effectiveness of student FBA/BIP plans and ensures all are implemented within federal, state and local regulations
- Provide resources for teachers in the areas of anxiety, autism, and other emotional disabilities
- Work with families to provide resources and services
- Support students through classroom/school transitions
Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree in special education or related field
Licensure: Holds a Delaware state license in related field (or is eligible) Speech/Language Therapists are encouraged to apply!
Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience as well as experience with students with autism
