Summer Camp Nurse - Overnight Camp

As the Camp Nurse, you'll oversee daily health services, administer medications, respond to illnesses and injuries, and play a key role in maintaining a safe camp environment. Spend your summer making a meaningful impact in the lives of children What is needed for this job as our Camp Nurse: Current Pennsylvania licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), or other approved healthcare credential Current CPR and First Aid certification Experience working with children, adolescents, or in a camp, school, pediatric, emergency, or community health setting preferred Ability to assess injuries and illnesses, administer medications, and maintain confidential medical records Ability to communicate effectively with campers, families, healthcare providers, and camp staff The responsibilities we will trust you with as our Camp Nurse: Provide first aid, basic medical care, and health assessments for campers and staff Administer and document prescription and over-the-counter medications in accordance with physician orders and state regulations Conduct camper and staff health screenings and maintain accurate medical records Manage the camp health center, including medical supplies, equipment, and first aid kits Coordinate medical appointments and communicate with parents, healthcare providers, and camp leadership regarding participant health concerns Respond to medical emergencies and support implementation of the camp's emergency response procedures Complete required accident, incident, and medication documentation Educate campers and staff on health, wellness, and injury prevention Partner with camp leadership to maintain a safe, healthy, and inclusive camp environment What you can expect: Support from an experienced camp leadership team A rewarding summer spent helping children thrive Opportunities to build relationships with campers, families, and staff Meaningful work that promotes health, safety, and lifelong memories YMCA is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
