Purpose of the role

Focused on delivering individual projects, ensuring completion within scope, time, and budget with a more immediate focus.  

Accountabilities

  • Scope Management: Manages a single project with specific, defined objectives, deadlines, and deliverables. Their focus is on completing the project on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Strategic Focus: Operates more tactically, focusing on day-to-day management of resources, schedules, and deliverables for their individual project.
  • Time Horizon: Works with a shorter, more defined timeframe as projects have a set beginning and end.
  • Stakeholder Management: Primarily manages stakeholders related to their specific project, ensuring communication and expectations are clear for the project’s deliverables.
  • Risk and Issue Management:  Focuses on risks and issues specific to their project and works to mitigate them within the project’s scope.
  • Resource Management: Manages resources for their individual project, ensuring that the project team has the necessary skills, tools, and time to complete the work.
  • Financial Management: Focuses on managing the budget of their specific project, ensuring it is completed within the financial constraints.
  • Metrics: Measures success based on the timely completion of project deliverables within scope, time, and budget.
  • Change Management: Manages changes that directly impact their specific project, including scope changes, timelines, or resource allocation adjustments.

Assistant Vice President Expectations

  • To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
  • Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes

  • OR for an individual contributor, they will lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identify the need for the inclusion of other areas of specialisation to complete assignments. They will identify new directions for assignments and/ or projects, identifying a combination of cross functional methodologies or practices to meet required outcomes.
  • Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.
  • Perform work that is closely related to that of other areas, which requires understanding of how areas coordinate and contribute to the achievement of the objectives of the organisation sub-function.
  • Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategy.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.
  • Communicate complex information. 'Complex' information could include sensitive information or information that is difficult to communicate because of its content or its audience.
  • Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.

To be successful as a “Project Manager- AVP ", you should have experience with:

  Basic/ Essential Qualifications:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to clearly present delivery updates to different stakeholder groups.
  • Ability to tailor communication for technical, business, and leadership audiences.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to meet competing deadlines.
  • High attention to detail while handling large volumes of work.
  • Strong coordination and tracking of delivery activities.
  • Focus on execution discipline and follow-through.
  • Understanding of governance processes and RAID management.
  • Ability to maintain structured reporting and control artefacts.
  • Ability to work effectively across PMO, business, technology, and suppliers.
  • Strong coordination and relationship management.
  • Understanding of Coupa processes and approval workflows.
  • Awareness of vendor onboarding and procurement processes.
  • To support the VP in delivery by ensuring effective governance, reporting, financial tracking, and coordination across programme workstreams.
  • The role is responsible for maintaining delivery oversight, supporting control,frameworks, and enabling consistent programme execution through structured tracking, reporting, and coordination of stakeholders and suppliers.
  • This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, ensuring accurate and timely delivery updates across programme activities.

Desirable skillsets/ good to have:

  • Working knowledge of Jira (delivery tracking support).
  • Familiarity with Coupa (procurement and approvals).
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint for reporting and communication.
