In this dynamic environment, we are looking for an ambitious and self-driven Senior Associate, with a Financial Services background, to join our Capital Markets & Accounting Advisory Services (CMAAS) team in Athens. 

The Capital Markets and Accounting Advisory Services team provides a range of services designed to support clients successfully navigate the complexities of financial reporting and regulatory compliance. In this role, you will provide expert advice on challenging accounting matters, support significant corporate transactions, and assist with capital markets activities including IPOs and debt offerings.

  • You will proactively execute technical accounting work on projects, reporting to the Managers, Senior Managers, Directors, Partners, and other professionals
  • You will need to demonstrate abilities in (either a proven record of success or a willingness to learn) how to identify and address client needs. This includes building and maintaining client relationships, supporting the engagement manager in all matters of engagement economics and administration, and preparing/assisting in the preparation of complex written and verbal materials
  • Conduct research and analysis and communicate guidance to Financial Services clients on how accounting standards and financial reporting requirements affect complex accounting issues, transactions, and deals—including those involving financial instruments, insurance accounting, and business combinations
  • Support the execution of Capital Markets transactions, such as structuring debt and equity offerings, perform financial analysis, and provide pre- and post-transaction advice
  • Act as a key contact for client engagement, delivering high-quality, actionable insights to improve client financial reporting
  • Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, fostering and sustaining robust partnerships with both internal stakeholders and external clients

What you bring matters

  • University degree in Accounting & Finance, Business Administration and/or related disciplines. Hold professional qualifications (ACCA, ACA, IESOEL) or be in the process of completing your professional qualification exams 
  • Four (4) or more years in audit, accounting or similar roles within the financial services industry 
  • Technical expertise and practical experience in the application of IFRS  
  • Ability to understand complex accounting transactions and commercial/business drivers within the Financial Services industry 
  • Ability to develop solutions based on a sound understanding of facts and research of the relevant material, within a commercial sound framework 
  • Assertive, flexible, proactive, and self-motivated with a desire for learning 
  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to build trust within teams
