Job Description
Responsible for operating, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining manufacturing equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent production. Performs equipment changeover, start-ups and shut-downs, conducts routine inspections, safety checks, and quality testing, and completes required production records. Troubleshoots process and equipment issues, and follows standard operating procedures to maximize productivity, equipment performance, and product quality.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following, but are not limited to:
- Follows LOTO and OSHA requirements outlined by the EHS department and based on the Standard Operating Procedures for this equipment.
- Always wears the assigned PPE and follows the PPE guidelines set by the business.
- Does not operate any equipment, machinery, or tool if not trained to operate.
- Ensures the Safety requirements and controls are respected and executed in their extrusion line work environment.
- Reports any non-conformance noticed - Safety, Quality or Process related.
- Sets up the materials as per the production schedule to ensure quality and performance of the line.
- Communicates equipment failure or malfunction to the maintenance team or Supervisor immediately.
- Sets the extrusion line to achieve quality and performance objectives
- Performs inspections and checks to ensure Safety, Quality and Performance.
- Executes the changeover process, performing the necessary steps to ensure accurate and efficient procedure
- Performs production line start-up and shut down procedures.
- Completes and executes the quality plan in Inspecting and testing the raw materials and finished products.
- Performs material and production records
- Responsible for the production line Performance ( OEE, Scrap, Downtime, etc.)
- Performs process routine inspections checks to ensure process compliance, quality and performance
- Collaborates with team members and support areas
- Provides guidance to machine operators on production process subjects
- Troubleshoots production process and support systems issues.
- Other duties assigned by the management team to ensure the completion of production and based on the needs of the business.
EDUCATION
- High school diploma or GED desirable but not required.
EXPERIENCE
- 3 years of experience in an industrial environment
- Plastic Industry experience preferred but not required
- Minimum of 3–5 years of machine operating experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience training or leading employees. Previous experience as a Lead Operator, Team Lead, or Shift Lead is preferred.
Shift Availability:
This position may be assigned to one of the following shifts based on business needs:
- 1st Shift: Monday–Saturday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- 2nd Shift: Monday–Saturday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: Monday–Saturday, 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
1st Shift: Monday–Saturday, 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM
2nd Shift: Monday–Saturday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
3rd Shift: Monday–Saturday, 10:00 PM – 6:00 AM
