In this role, you’ll work on the end-to-end delivery of environmental sustainability programs that help Novartis achieve its ambition to be net-zero by 2040 and contribute toward a nature-positive world. You’ll bring structure and momentum to complex initiatives: setting governance, aligning cross-functional stakeholders and keeping delivery on track, while translating data and progress into clear updates for senior leaders and external reporting.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Lead the product decarbonization work-stream to deliver 2030 and 2040 emissions reduction targets of Novartis through environmental life-cycle assessments, engagement with suppliers to drive actions
Drive sustainable sourcing initiatives across Operations to reduce environmental impact across the value chain
Work closely with internal teams and external partners to identify solutions and manage their implementation of such programs end to end
Prepare key updates and strategic deliverables for Operations Leadership team
Help communicate strategic priorities, performance updates, and key highlights to Operations associates and stakeholders.
Lead operational excellence initiatives and projects, including standardization, automation, digital/AI enablement, and continuous improvement.
Support training and communication activities that build environmental sustainability knowledge and skills across teams
Organize and facilitate governance forums and leadership workshops to support effective decision-making and execution.
Essential Requirements
Bachelor’s degree with an MBA (preferably IIMs, ISB, or any other Top Tier)
10–12 years of overall experience in the pharmaceuticals / life sciences or consulting industry
Past experience in commercial insights and analytics, pharmaceutical R&D, or manufacturing preferred
Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical value chain, including manufacturing, sourcing, and packaging activities
Proven experience managing programs or projects across multiple teams and stakeholders, preferably in global organizations
Relevant experience delivering environmental sustainability initiatives
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with strong storytelling, analytical, problem-solving, organizational skills, and attention to detail
Effective communication skills, ability to synthesize complex information into actionable insights, and comfort working in a dynamic, cross-functional environment; fluent spoken and written English
Desirable Requirements
Experience in pharmaceutical commercial insights & analytics, research & development, manufacturing
