Job Description

Receptionist

Pay: $20/hr

Schedule: 4pm-11pm, as needed. Per Diem position.

At Recovery Centers of America (RCA), every team member plays a critical role in helping individuals reclaim their lives from addiction. As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and staff, helping to create a welcoming and safe environment in a healthcare setting that often involves high-emotion interactions. This role requires both professionalism and compassion, especially when supporting individuals at various stages of intoxication or withdrawal.

We’re seeking candidates with prior healthcare or behavioral health experience, ideally in a substance use disorder (SUD) setting, who understand the importance of trauma-informed communication and operational precision.

What You’ll Do

· Greet patients, visitors, and guests with empathy and professionalism, even in high-stress or emotionally intense situations.

· Facilitate the patient admission process, including welcoming individuals who may be actively intoxicated or in distress.

· Administer Narcan (as needed) in emergency situations, with training provided.

· Answer and route incoming calls with urgency and clarity, providing accurate facility information.

· Support candidates arriving for interviews and appointments with check-in and directional assistance.

· Manage mail, packages, and deliveries in accordance with facility procedures.

· Maintain a tidy, organized front desk and lobby area that reflects RCA’s commitment to excellence.

What We’re Looking For

· A high school diploma or GED; additional training in medical or behavioral health administration is a plus.

· Prior experience in a healthcare, behavioral health, or substance use disorder treatment setting (required).

· At least one year of experience in a receptionist, administrative assistant, or front desk role (preferred).

· Comfort interacting with individuals who may be experiencing withdrawal, intoxication, or other medical issues.

· The ability to respond calmly in urgent situations, including administering Narcan (training provided).

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with HIPAA and patient confidentiality standards.

· Strong multitasking and organizational skills in a fast-paced, patient-facing environment.

Why Choose RCA?

That’s why we offer:

· Competitive compensation.

· Flexible scheduling options, including full-time, part-time, and per diem positions.

· Comprehensive benefits packages, encompassing medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) plans.

· Professional development opportunities through ongoing training and advancement programs.

· A supportive and inclusive workplace culture where many of our team members share a deep personal connection to recovery.
