JOB SUMMARY |
This job is in the Plant family (Department), which includes positions responsible for supervising or performing work metals processing and distribution work within the Reliance family of companies. Work includes specialized equipment operation and/or supporting functions and requires a practical knowledge of the nature and operations and the materials, facilities and methods employed by Reliance companies in metals processing and distribution. Forklift Operator I is responsible for performing material handling and equipment operation tasks within the plant. This role works under close supervision and follows detailed instructions to safely move, locate, and store materials using forklifts and other material handling equipment. The position supports daily operations by ensuring accurate order pulling, proper material identification, and adherence to safety and quality standards in a fast-paced metals processing and distribution environment. * Compensation depends on experience. |

Required Skills
· 2-5 years of relevant experience in a steel, construction or heavy industrial environment
· High School diploma/GED preferred.
e Experienced handling long/heavy materials (20’–60’ steel, pipe, or beams)
· Must be able to obtain a certification to operate all required motorized material handling and rigging equipment.
· Must possess a Valid Drivers License.
· Warehousing and material handling experience preferred.
· Ability to show adequate manual dexterity, finger dexterity, arm-hand steadiness, and multi-limb coordination required.
· Ability to read and comprehend written instructions as applied to work situations required.
· Basic measurement skills, including taking, converting, and/or using measurements of length, width, height, and weight to perform basic math computations correctly required.
· Basic arithmetic skills to calculate and convert decimals and fractions required.
· Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively required.
· Ability to make sound decisions based on a combination of factors including knowledge, experience, and judgment required.
Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with supervisors and co-workers required.
Compensation Range
The anticipated compensation for this position is USD $23.00/Hr. - USD $29.50/Hr. depending on experience, qualifications, and location.
