Job Description

PMO Analyst

Everything we do is built on a commitment to do the right thing for our customers, our people and our community. Our mission and our values guide the way we do business. The foundations of our Leidos culture are our Values, Beliefs and Expectations by which we select, recognise and reward employees. They create the environment that drives us toward our mission.

UNLEASH YOUR POTENTIAL

At Leidos, we’re committed to doing the right thing for our customers, our people and our communities. Our values shape how we work together, how we support one another, and how we deliver meaningful outcomes on some of the UK’s most important programmes.

This is a great opportunity to grow your career in project and programme management while contributing to work that matters. As part of our team, you’ll be encouraged to learn, build your skills and work alongside experienced colleagues in a supportive environment.

We value curiosity, collaboration and integrity, and we’re looking for people who want to develop their careers while making a positive impact. We’re looking for a PMO Analyst to join a defence programme based in the UK. This hybrid role offers the chance to build hands-on experience in programme delivery, governance and reporting, with some travel to Farnborough and Cambridgeshire to support programme delivery.

Being part of the Leidos team is a commitment to push yourself and those around you to do better, constantly adapt and learn new technologies. We’re a passionate team and are committed to developing and growing our staff.

WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?

We currently have a permanent vacancy for a PMO Analyst to work alongside the Programme Management Team for our Government client. This position is a full time, permanent role and applicants must have DV clearance or be willing to undergo the clearance process.

The programme is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive individual to join the team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone earlier in their career who is keen to build experience in programme delivery, governance and reporting while working on a large and complex defence programme. You’ll support the team by helping to keep project information accurate and up to date, contributing to clear reporting, and learning how strong PMO practices help programmes deliver successfully. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the programme, gain exposure to a wide range of activities, and develop your skills in a fast-paced and supportive environment.

Your Role and Responsibilities

  • Support the maintenance of programme documentation and ensure information is kept accurate, organised and aligned to agreed processes

  • Help collect, monitor and analyse data to support financial and resource planning across the programme

  • Assist with producing reports, dashboards and performance information to support programme reviews and decision-making

  • Support the development of clear, user-friendly reporting using tools such as Excel and Power BI

  • Work closely with programme teams to ensure outputs are timely, accurate and fit for purpose

  • Support project managers and engineers with planning activities, including work package information, risks, assumptions and dependencies

  • Support key stakeholders with contract change and new work proposal activities as required

  • Learn and apply PMO tools, processes and best practices while developing your skills in a supportive team environment

We’re looking for someone who is motivated to learn, organised in their approach, and confident working with information and stakeholders. You’ll be supported to develop your skills while taking ownership of your day-to-day tasks, and you’ll have the opportunity to build experience in reporting, governance, planning and programme coordination. Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and a willingness to ask questions and learn quickly will be key to success in this role.

  • Some experience in a PMO, project support or administrative role, or the ability to demonstrate significant transferable skills relevant to PMO activities.

  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work accurately with information and data.

  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Able to work as part of a multi-functional programme team and collaborate effectively with colleagues from different disciplines.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to support document preparation, reporting and information gathering.

  • Analytical and organised, with the ability to identify trends, follow processes and manage tasks effectively.

  • Able to manage priorities, work to deadlines and support delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Teams and Outlook; knowledge of Power BI or MS Project would be beneficial.

  • A qualification in a recognised project management methodology (e.g. PRINCE2 Foundation, APM PFQ) is desirable, or a willingness to work towards one.

  • An awareness of project delivery approaches such as Agile would be advantageous.
