Personal Lines Quoting Specialist (Rating):
The quoting specialist is responsible for quoting and issuing new business and processing rating transactions and endorsements. This position will support the Personal Lines department. You will provide Producers/Account Managers with quotes on new business and renewal accounts through the process of entering customer data on a comparative rater and various carrier websites. This position requires a strong partnership with Underwriters to ensure that all data needs are met, and due dates are managed effectively.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand our relationships with carriers and quote to appropriate markets.
- Analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines.
- Learn coverage forms and underwriting/rating policies and procedures and apply these concepts to the job.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Processes transactions on all Personal Lines policies including quotations, new business issuance, policy changes and policy renewals.
- Performs support functions for the underwriting teams.
Specifications and Qualifications:
- Requires 1-3 years of related industry experience
- Property & Casualty Insurance License
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality and accuracy
- Completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
- Strong ability to prioritize, organize, complete multiple tasks and accurately handle a high volume of work
- Ability to operate with a high sense of urgency to meet deadlines and productivity targets
- Ability to develop strong working partnerships with carriers
- Embraces a fast-paced environment with the ability to adjust to change
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and quoting systems
- Applied EPIC experience (preferred)
