Mate

Seaspan Ferries operates roll-on/roll-off self-propelled drop trailer ferries as well as articulating tug and barge units between greater Vancouver and Vancouver Island. Seaspan Ferries is undergoing fleet replacement with the introduction of modern vessels and is looking for Deck Officers who will develop into future captains. The Mate is the head of deck department and is in command of vessel operations during the Master’s absence. This role is responsible for assigning crew with specific roles with respect to the deck department responsibilities and monitoring that the work is carried out safely and efficiently.
