JOB DESCRIPTION:
The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) John Sealy School of Medicine in Galveston is seeking a full-time Pediatric Endocrinologist at the rank of Assistant Professor. This is a unique opportunity to join a nationally recognized academic health system and a collaborative team of clinicians and researchers.
This position offers the opportunity to engage in clinical care, contribute to the education of pediatric residents and medical students, and develop a productive funded research program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
This full-time academic role combines clinical care, teaching and research within a collaborative health system. The successful candidate will:
Join a multidisciplinary team to support the institutional clinical, educational and research missions.
Provide comprehensive pediatric endocrinology care across inpatient and outpatient settings.
Teach and mentor medical students, residents, and fellows.
Participate in the development of a clinical and/or basic research program within the Division of Endocrinology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- M.D. or D.O. degree from an LCME or COCA accredited medical school.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Residency.
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Pediatric Endocrinology Fellowship.
- Board Certification in Pediatrics.
- Board Certification or Eligibility in Pediatric Endocrinology.
- Ability to obtain an unrestricted State of Texas Physician License.
- Current U.S. DEA Practitioner registration.
- U.S. Citizenship or Employment Authorization to work in the U.S.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient care and medical education.
- Demonstrated commitment to clinical and/or basic science research.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior academic experience in resident and medical student education.
- Demonstrated research experience and productivity.
SALARY:
Commensurate with experience.
