Inventory Control Associate
Position Summary
The Inventory Control Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records and ensuring inventory integrity within the warehouse. This role supports daily warehouse operations by conducting cycle counts, investigating inventory discrepancies, processing inventory transactions, and assisting with inventory audits. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cycle counts to verify inventory accuracy.
Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shortages, overages, and damaged goods.
Maintain accurate inventory records using the warehouse management system (WMS).
Process inventory adjustments, transfers, and transactions in accordance with company procedures.
Monitor inventory levels and report potential stock issues to management.
Assist with receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping activities as needed.
Conduct root cause analysis for inventory variances and recommend corrective actions.
Support physical inventory counts and annual audits.
Ensure proper product identification, labeling, and storage practices.
Maintain compliance with company safety policies and warehouse procedures.
Collaborate with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other departments to improve inventory accuracy and operational efficiency.
Generate inventory reports and provide updates to management as requested.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED preferred.
1–2 years of inventory control, warehouse, or logistics experience preferred.
Experience using warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory software, or ERP systems.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Excel and data entry.
Ability to perform mathematical calculations and analyze inventory data.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift throughout the workday.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, or RF scanners (certification preferred).
Preferred Qualifications
Forklift certification.
Experience with cycle counting and inventory auditing procedures.
Knowledge of Lean, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.
Experience in distribution, manufacturing, or logistics environments.
