The Content Specialist will be responsible for creating, editing, and managing engaging content across various platforms to enhance our brand presence and drive customer engagement. The ideal candidate will have a passion for home improvement, excellent writing skills, and a keen eye for detail. This role requires a creative thinker who can produce high-quality content that resonates with our target audience.
- Develop and execute a content strategy that aligns with the company’s marketing goals and objectives.
- Create compelling and informative content for the company’s website, blog, social media channels, email campaigns, and other marketing materials.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to plan and produce content that supports product launches, promotions, and seasonal campaigns.
- Conduct research to ensure content is accurate, relevant, and up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
- Optimize content for SEO to improve organic search rankings and drive traffic to the website.
- Edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to brand guidelines.
- Monitor and analyze content performance using analytics tools, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Stay current with emerging trends and technologies in content creation and digital marketing.
- Willingness to travel to KENT locations across Atlantic Canada to capture engaging video and digital content of our teams and stores.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in content creation, preferably within the retail or home improvement industry.
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices and experience with keyword research.
- Proven experience in multimedia content production across traditional and short-form/social video; strong photography and videography skills with expertise in lighting and audio in both studio and live event settings.
Experience directing on-camera talent.
Proficiency in motion graphics and experience operating a drone considered assets.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) and social media platforms.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Creative mindset with a passion for storytelling and engaging content creation.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design and multimedia production is a plus.
