Job Description
Role Summary:
The Sourcing Engineer is responsible for running the sourcing events for indirect goods and/or services as requested by the specific function, BU or Site as defined by the system workflows.
The overall focus of the role is to manage the complete RFQ/RFP process and to select the most appropriate supplier for the intended scope of work based on Safety, Quality, Delivery & Cost parameters as appropriate and aligned with the global indirect category strategy.
Responsibilities:
Execute the sourcing events on behalf of the Function/BU/Site as defined by the system workflows in a timely manner.
Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best value offering for Flowserve with respect to the scope of work and Function/BU/Site needs; balancing Quality, Delivery, Cost and Service.
Comply with the sourcing strategy as set forth by the site; including focusing spend on Partner & Preferred suppliers.
Create and expedite any new supplier requests / supplier changes as required to support the Function or BU operations.
Identify any specific supply/supplier risks as it pertains to the managed scope and elevate them through the appropriate process/hierarchy.
Operate in full compliance to all Flowserve Policies & Procedures as applicable to the role.
Supplier Identification & Selection: Identify, audit, and onboard new suppliers to meet technical specifications and cost targets.
RFQ & Negotiation: Execute RFQ processes, cost modeling, and negotiate terms to achieve cost reduction targets (VA/VE).
Technical Support: Partner with R&D or engineering to validate components, approve suppliers, and resolve technical supplier issues.
Supply Chain Optimization: Supplier performance to reduce risk and enhance efficiency.
Quality Compliance: Monitor supplier quality performance and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering
1+ years of Sourcing experience and Engineering, or a related field preferred
Strong interpersonal relationship management
Evidenced understanding of both commercial and technical areas of supply chain
Very strong commercial acumen and negotiation skills
Proficiency in Project Management
Strong analytical skills which involve collecting, analyzing and interpreting data
Ability to influence, communicate, and collaborate at all organizational levels
Expertise with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Knowledge of applicable ERPs and associated tools i.e. Oracle
