Structural Engineer

Reporting directly to our Division Manager, you will collaborate with local and regional teams to deliver a variety of structural engineering pursuits to well-established clients including local governments, provincial ministries and agencies, and crown corporations. Our team at McElhanney has big company opportunities, and a small company feel. What You'll Do Providing design, engineering, and site inspections for structural projects. Lead Project management of multi-disciplinary projects, including managing structural assignments locally. Assisting with proposal preparation and business development. Supervising and mentoring junior staff. What You'll Bring Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering from an accredited post-secondary institution with 10+ years of experience in structural design. Registration in good standing as a P.Eng. in any Canadian province or territory. Proven delivery of structural projects (design, drafting, and inspection) for public and private clients, experience in multi-family, multi-story, residential design would be an asset. Knowledge & experience with National and Provincial Building Codes including those for steel (CAN/CSA S16), concrete (CAN/CSA A23.3), masonry (CAN/CSA S304.1), and wood (CAN/CSA 086). Proficiency with structural engineering software, such as RISA or SAP2000. Strong communication skills both written and verbal as well as a positive, team-oriented attitude. Strong people skills with the ability to communicate and work effectively with a diverse range of individuals. What Can We Offer You? The salary range for this position is $100,000 - $140,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting.
