
Risk Engineer
Job Description
The Risk Engineer involves carrying out qualitative and quantitative risk analyses to support oil & gas, energy and infrastructure projects with the management of their risks.
Responsibilities
- To manage and support projects within Risk Team portfolio and ensure they are in accordance with quality system requirements, cost structures and budgetary / contractual requirements.
- To facilitate / chair qualitative risk studies (e.g. HAZIDs, HAZOPs, FMEAs) or supporting others as a scribe.
- Lead or support QRAs
- Complete a technical review of risk assessments completed by other team members.
- To conduct activities in line with internal procedures, accreditation schemes, legislation, and industry standards.
- To support the development of others within the organisation through coaching and effective knowledge transfer.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in science or engineering, project management or a related field.
- Good knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques, with experience facilitating / chairing workshops.
- In depth working experience in risk assessment / qualitative risk management.
- 10+ years’ risk management experience in oil & gas, energy and infrastructure sectors.
- Knowledge of QRA Software (e.g. PHAST / SAFETI).
- Good project management experience with engineering and commercial knowledge are preferred.
- Proficiency in the English commensurate with the work, with the ability to produce comprehensive and detailed written reports.
