Senior Software Engineer - Infrastructure/Backend

The SEI Technology – Site Reliability Engineering organization has a challenging career opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer focused on Infrastructure and Internal Platform Engineering. This position requires a strong foundation in software development, combined with deep experience in cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes platforms, and automation at scale.

You will build and evolve internal platforms, tooling, and automation frameworks that enable our SRE, DevOps, and application teams to operate efficiently at scale across cloud and hybrid environments.

You should be adaptable, possess a wide range of technical skills, and demonstrate the ability to understand financial services business requirements while delivering production-quality software and platform capabilities.

What you will do:

• Design and build SEI’s next generation of Infrastructure and Platform systems as software products on the public cloud and Kubernetes ecosystems
• Build and maintain Infrastructure-as-Code frameworks (Terraform, Ansible) as versioned, reusable software systems
• Produce high-quality, maintainable code (Python, Go, etc.) to implement platform services, APIs, and automation
• Analyze and resolve issues found during the testing or pre-production phases of the software delivery lifecycle; coordinating changes with project team leaders and cross-work team members
• Design abstraction layers that simplify infrastructure consumption for engineering teams
• Interact with data architects, other tech leads, team members and project manager as required addressing technical and scheduling issues.
• Suggest and implement process improvements for managing all lifecycles of cloud infrastructure at scale
• Responsible for insuring team designs and delivers code in alignment with published SEI & industry standards.
• Provide technical problem resolution and application support, as required

What we need from you:

• BA/BS, in a related technical field; or the equivalent in education and work experience
• A minimum of 5 years of prior work experience with a combination of Linux Systems Administration, DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering or related work.
• Background with at least one cloud provider (AWS, GCP, Azure, OCI)
• Strong experience in at least one programming language (Python, Go, Java, etc.)
• Knowledge of Linux Systems such as RHEL, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, etc
• Demonstrable experience with Infrastructure as code using Terraform, Ansible, and similar tooling
• Experience working with Kubernetes-based platforms and cloud-native systems
• Ability to create system architecture diagrams and communicate technical concepts clearly
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration skills
