Te kōwhiringa | The Opportunity
We’re looking for experienced Civil Driver Operators to join our Nelson team, with a strong focus on developing future Forepersons.
This role will see you working hands-on across civil projects while also building your capability in leading crews, coordinating day-to-day activities, and supporting Supervisors.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Operating plant and machinery safely and efficiently
- Transporting, loading and unloading equipment (Class 4/5 work)
- Supporting site crews to deliver high-quality civil works
- Assisting with planning daily tasks, plant, and people allocation
- Taking the lead on-site when required and mentoring junior staff
- Ensuring all work meets safety, quality, and environmental standards
Ngā pūkenga matua | Important Skills
We’re looking for operators who are not just technically strong, but ready to step into leadership.
You will bring:
- Class 4 or 5 New Zealand driver’s licence
- Wheels, Tracks & Rollers (WTR) endorsement
- Proven experience in civil construction
- Confidence operating a range of plant and equipment
- Experience supporting or leading small crews (or ready to step up)
- Strong communication and a proactive, can-do attitude
- Commitment to safety and quality outcomes
