Harborview Medical Center - Rehab Therapies has an outstanding opportunity for a Therapy Aide / Hospital Assistant / Nursing Assistant Certified (NAR).

WORK SCHEDULE

  • 100% FTE (40 hours per week)

  • Monday – Friday

  • Day Shift

POSITION HIGHLIGHTS

  • Assists the physical, occupational, speech, and therapeutic recreation staff in a variety of tasks designed to improve departmental work efficiency

  • Manage inventory (ordering, stocking, organizing) and maintain equipment (monitoring, inspections, cleaning, setup)

  • Assist clinical staff with tasks (record retrieval, filing, faxing, photocopying, arranging interpreter services, charge prep) and provide direct patient care (ADLs, exercise, ambulation, positioning, safety support during treatments)

PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cleans and maintains equipment, including but not limited to mats, wheelchairs, CPMs, parallel bars, toys, and loaner bathroom equipment

  • Maintains cleanliness and order in work area, gyms, and supply and storage areas

  • Delivers equipment to appropriate departments; obtains supplies from other departments

  • Provides routine inspection and maintenance of department equipment; removes faulty or damaged equipment from service, and reports to appropriate personnel

  • Moves and sets up equipment, as necessary, for therapist use and patient care; assists in setting up special equipment

  • Maintains a safe clinical environment including aspects such as use of proper principles/techniques for all procedures, body substance isolation, and responsibility to identify/report unsafe situations

  • Emails and alpha pages workgroup members with information updates

  • Transfers patient to and from appropriate conveyances (e.g., wheelchair, Hoyer lift, and mat or tilt table)

  • Cultivates and demonstrates positive work attitudes and relationships

  • Seeks feedback from others and responds in a non-defensive manner; implements suggestions from constructive feedback

REQUIREMENTS

  • Nursing Assistant-Registered (NAR) with the State of Washington

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent

  • Six months experience involving customer service in a health care setting OR six months experience involving direct patient care OR equivalent education/experience

  • Valid American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers upon hire
