Position Summary:

The Medical Certified Driver/Shipping Technician is a direct labor role within the operational structure, responsible for shipping parts back to customers based on specific packaging instructions and assisting with the final packaging of parts within the shipping department. This position mainly involves operating Pentagon Technologies' delivery trucks. A valid driver’s license in good standing with local, state, and federal agencies is required.

 

**This is an onsite day shift role, Monday through Friday, beginning at 7am and ending once the run is completed based on deliveries, with eligibility for overtime pay; driving will make up 85% of the duties, and the remaining time will be spent on shipping tasks from 7am to 3:30pm. Occasional weekend work may be required in the near future to support pickup of items and finished products based on business needs.

 

Essential Duties:

Includes but is not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Package and ship customer-supplied parts according to work order traveler instructions.
• Perform inspections and part counts before and after completing packaging tasks.
• Retrieve incoming deliveries and file proof of delivery documentation (packing slips).
• Schedule pick-ups with shipping vendors and maintain package tracking information.
• Maintain and file all work order travelers with supporting documentation.
• Follow established packaging and delivery procedures to ensure consistent, reliable, and timely shipments.
• Deliver final products to assigned customer sites as needed.
• Understand and follow special instructions related to DMRs, kits, materials, and deposits.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols in the shipping department and while driving.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the shipping area and company vehicles.
• Adhere to Pentagon Technologies’ driver dress code and maintain a professional appearance.
• Communicate potential conflicts or issues to management in a clear, concise, and professional manner.
• Demonstrate appreciation for timeliness, quality, punctuality, and adherence to company rules and regulations.

Your Experiences, Skills, and Abilities:

• Must have a High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Valid driver’s license and Medical Card Certification (complete on-site)
• Ability to read and comprehend internal and external documents such as work order travelers, inventory records, bill of lading and packing slip documents, logs, and general company records, as well as customer packing slips or purchase orders
• Has basic math and measurement skills
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
• Has an appreciation for timeliness, quality, and punctuality. This includes following all rules and regulations, including safety, attendance, breaks, time off, and etc. established by management.
• Forklift certification. Speedy packer certification.

 

Safety:

Employee will be trained in, and is to follow and lead by example, all general safety requirements of Pentagon Technologies as well as specific safety regulatory requirements.

 

Work Environment:

Must be able to function well in an office environment. Must also be able to work in a controlled chemical and wastewater environment. Must also be able to perform in a laboratory environment. Persons who are sensitive to chemical environments with such medical conditions as asthma, allergies, or extreme sensitivity to chemicals may not be considered as good candidates for this position. Must be able to travel to the Pentagon Technologies Facilities in the continental US as required. Must be able to travel to Vendor and Customer facilities within the continental US as required.

 

Physical Demands:

Must pass Company required screening tests and gain Medical Card Certification. The employee is regularly required to sit and stand, reach with hands and arms and perform light routine office work, which includes computer workstation usage. Should be able to pick-up 50 lbs on occasional or regular basis. Will on a regular basis push or pull heavy loads (up to 750 lbs.) with basic material handling equipment.
