Brown & Brown is seeking a Senior Employee Benefits Advocate to join our growing team in Oak Brook, IL!
Employee Advocacy Services (EAS) provides employees with support and guidance to help them navigate their benefits with confidence. This includes assistance with benefits questions, resolving ID card issues, locating healthcare providers, and addressing medical billing or coverage concerns. The purpose of these services is to enhance employee well-being, improve workplace productivity, and strengthen the overall value of the company’s benefits package—ultimately contributing to long term organizational success.
How You Will Contribute:
Team Lead for the EAS team overseeing the department by assigning tasks, providing training/assistance to team as needed, handle complex inquiries, manages quarterly reporting, and attends client or prospect meetings as needed.
- Respond to inquiries from clients by email, letters or telephone regarding benefits questions, resolving ID card issues, locating healthcare providers, and addressing medical billing or coverage concerns.
Advocating and reviewing of claim detail for corrective processing and benefits application.
Obtain and review Contracts, Summary Plan Descriptions and Schedules of Benefits from Carriers to properly explain benefits and/or use for claim review
Follow up with Carriers and/or providers for status on claim issues
Pull employee/dependent details, id cards, as well as provider searches via various carrier systems
Enter all inquiries and notes in internal systems for tracking
Work as a team with Employee Advocacy Department as well as producers, account executives, and account managers.
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
High School diploma
College Degree (preferred)
Knowledge of MS outlook, Word, Excel
Knowledge and use of the Internet to access Ins. Companies for PPO/HMO Networks and to obtain information for Insurance Legislation
Familiarity with claims process, CPT codes, ICD10 codes, medical and insurance terminology, a plus
1-3 years of experience with employee benefits (preferred)
Pay Range
$32.00 - $44.00 HourlyThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
