Job Description
Job Specific Competencies:
- Provides clinical nursing assessment skills to ambulatory patients in an outpatient setting.
- Proficient in policy and procedure for starting, maintaining and discontinuing indwelling lines.
- Proficient in demonstrating policy and procedure for all medications to include oral, intramuscular, nasogastric, subcutaneous and intravenous.
- Provides nursing care to patients in the clinic following the Missouri Nurse Practice Act.
- Responds to and provides nursing care to all patients at JCMG in emergent need (i.e. code situations).
- Proficient in demonstrating procedures for obtaining laboratory tests.
- Demonstrates knowledge and ability to assist with checking patients in and out of clinic.
- Performs routine clerical activities required for efficient operation of the ambulatory clinic.
- Employs techniques designed to reduce or prevent the spread of infection.
- Strives for continuous quality improvement.
- Participates in educational experiences designed to maintain and/or improve professional competence.
- Maintains high work ethic standards.
- Provides quality customer service to staff, patients and visitors at all times.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Completion of accredited RN program with A.D.N., diploma or B.S.N. degree
- Completion of medical terminology course or equivalent experience, demonstrating basic knowledge of medical terminology
- One year of RN experience in an acute care setting
- Current state of Missouri Registered Nurse License in good standing
- Bi-annual BLS Certification
- Bi-annual ACLS Certification
- Bi-annual PALS Certification
- PICC line Certification
- Basic computer skills
- IV skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Works in heated and air-conditioned area; may be exposed to infectious material and contagious conditions; frequently exposed to patient body fluids, including blood and contaminated sharps; potential for exposure to hazardous disinfecting chemicals and radiation.

Pay Range: $32.00 - $39.20 per hour
