Job Description
The primary purpose of the Memory Care Center CMT or L1MA is to maintain quality resident care in accordance with the Communities Policy and Procedure and federal, state, and local laws, regulations and guidelines while maintaining the resident’s highest quality of life. Will be responsible for administering medications according to federal, state and local laws, regulations and guidelines as well as assist in providing quality and direct resident care.
This is a full-time, evening shift.
Essential Functions:
Department Specific:
- Provide quality nursing care to residents in an environment that promote resident rights, dignity, individuality and freedom of choice.
- Administer and document all medications by oral, inhalation or tropical route that may be ordered by a doctor.
- Conduct resident rounds daily, daily staff huddles and be able to report problems to charge nurse and/or Director of Nursing.
- Label all OTC or other medications not marked by the pharmacy that may be used by resident’s
- Remove any medications not being used by the resident or add new medications being used that are ordered by doctor per facility policies and procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident information.
- Ensure resident concerns and/or grievances are reported immediately to the charge nurse.
- Be able to recognize a change of condition and report on resident’s condition to the charge nurse.
- Reorder medications from pharmacist and return all unused medications per facility policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local laws, regulations and guidelines.
- Obtain vital signs as ordered/needed and record appropriately per facilities policies and procedures.
- Document all medication errors and report to the charge nurse and/or Director of Nursing.
- Assist fellow co-workers in job duties as needed to meet resident’s needs.
- Report all incidents/accidents promptly and complete the required paperwork.
- Promote positive/open communication between team members, resident’s visitors and other departments.
- Ensure that safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times.
- Perform any task as delegated within their scope of practice.
- Maintains a professional image at all times.
- Utilizes problem solving skills to obtain appropriate resolutions.
- Through appropriate communication shows support for other team members and facility.
Personnel Management:
- Develop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-department personnel as well as with other departments within the facility to meet the needs of the Residents.
- Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis as well as a calm environment throughout the department.
- Participates and assists in departmental studies and projects as assigned or that may become necessary.
- Assist new employees.
- Open to new ideas and changes in the department and/or facility.
Other:
- Conforms to expected ethical and legal standards including matters related to Resident abuse and neglect, by personally complying with laws, regulations and facility’s policies and procedures.
