
Crop Scout/Farm Labourer, Seasonal
Job Description
Location: Juniper, NB
Wage: $19–$22 per hour
Seasonal Role (Recurring Annually): Mid-March to mid-October
Cavendish Farms is seeking a motivated and hands-on Seasonal Crop Scout /Farm Labourer to support field operations throughout the growing and harvest season.
This role combines crop scouting, field labour, and farm operations support activities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, learning about agriculture, and contributing to crop production from planting through harvest.
This is a recurring seasonal role each year, typically running from mid-March to mid-October, with potential to return each season.
Start date: ASAP.
Greenhouses and Field Preparation & Planting: Assist with cleaning the greenhouses, clearing rocks, and laying irrigation. Cut and prepare potato seeds and load them into planters.
Crop Care: Monitor crop growth and manage weed control by walking the fields to identify invasive weeds, insect infestations and crop diseases.
Harvesting: Hand-pick or sort row crops to clear debris (vines, rocks, mud) as they are brought off the field. Inspect potatoes to remove rotten, defective, or undersized potatoes. Check loads and complete basic paperwork.
You’ll support a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: Load, unload, and transfer crates. Wash, sanitize, and prepare potato storage bins and greenhouses. Clean and service the facilities, cut the grass, assist with irrigation pipes, and more.

Agriculture or farm experience is an asset, but not required
