In this role, you will build and maintain application features and services, with a strong emphasis on AI-assisted engineering practices.

What You'll Be Doing

We are looking for a self-driven engineer who is energized by solving challenging technical problems and continuously improving how software is delivered and operated. You will work across codebases, cloud platforms and engineering toolchains, contributing to both project execution and operational reliability. The ideal candidate brings a foundation in systems or software engineering and a growth mindset toward emerging technologies, including AI-driven tooling.

80% — Software Engineering Project Support

  • Performs a broad range of development work, including complex and nonroutine tasks, across a variety of environments.

  • Uses AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) to accelerate development and improve code quality and throughput.

  • Conducts thorough code reviews of peers' work — including AI-generated code — to ensure quality, security, and adherence to standards.

  • Actively participates in and helps facilitate Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives).

  • Mentors others on effective, responsible adoption of AI-assisted development tools.

  • Identifies opportunities to apply AI and automation to improve deployment frequency and increase system reliability.

20% — Problem Solving & Operational Reliability

  • Responds to service interruptions and leads or contributes to root cause analysis during post-mortems.

  • Quickly identifies trends, anomalies, and failure patterns; recommends and implements workable solutions.

  • Champions a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and operational excellence within the team.

  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams during major incidents, ensuring clear communication, coordinated response, and timely stakeholder updates throughout the lifecycle of an event.

What You'll Bring

  • Experience developing and delivering software assets utilizing web application frameworks, object-oriented languages, functional programming techniques, design patterns, along with secure coding practices.

  • Experience developing scalable web applications, web-services, preferably REST

  • Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases. Solid understanding of core concepts such as ACID transactions, data retrieval, search, and persistence paradigms.

  • Strong triage skills — able to perform root cause analysis and make decisive calls under pressure.

  • Solid hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, GCP, or OCI).

  • Ability to interpret and apply security requirements across infrastructure and software systems.

  • Experience using AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) to generate, review, and improve code.

  • Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated code and configurations for correctness, security, and performance.

  • Understanding of responsible AI use principles in an enterprise engineering context.

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technology-related field with 4-6 years of relevant experience. Equivalent practical experience demonstrating the required skills will be considered. Cloud platform, or AI-related certifications are a plus.
