Hiring Range

$96,400.00 - $132,550.00/Annual Actual pay is determined based on job-related factors such as relevant experience, education, credentials, skills, internal equity, and business needs.
Overview
The Medical Oncology Practice Manager works under the direct supervision of the Practice Director and/ or Service Line Administrator in collaboration with pharmacy and service line leadership to ensure optimal operations of physician practice and infusion services. In conjunction with the Clinical Director, Practice Director and/or SL Administrator, the Medical Oncology Practice Manager is responsible for the development and implementation of clinical and practice specific business plans to assure quality, service and financial performance against budgeted expectations. The Manager is also responsible for ensuring the clinical areas and practices adhere to RMG and RRMC standard operating policies and procedures, and meet any specified annual goals and objectives. Responsible for proactive financial management of the practice, including flexibly managing controllable expenses to realized volume and productivity. Responsible for the supervision of all operational aspects of the clinical areas and practice: appointments, staffing levels, payroll, customer service, access to care, and oversight of the revenue cycle, including coding, charge posting, Time of Service collections and chart audits as appropriate. Responsible for integration of the nursing process to include, coordination/management of patient care and the organizing, planning, directing, and evaluating of Services provided with a core focus on Facility and associated departments. As a Clinical Expert, ensures the provision of clinically competent services by validating staff competency in the provision of a comprehensive range of services/care in accordance with the standards of excellence, age-specific and cultural sensitivity established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans.

What you will do
  • Ensures TOS collections and physician target visit levels are met monthly. Monitors overtime and keeps it to minimum and monitors uses of resources with recommendations for change.
  • Assists director with activities related to accreditation and regulatory issues. Maintains knowledge of legal and regulatory guidelines related to practice environment and medical records. Assures that customer service is a focus of the practice. Uses information from patient satisfaction surveys to improve patient perception of care. Demonstrates and ensure team understands and responds to suggestions/concerns from patients/family/visitors/personnel/medical staff. Resolves concerns and responds to complaints related to care, access, and service. Patient waiting time should be no longer than 20 minutes for on-time arrival by overseeing daily schedule.
  • Assists with the development of new or the expansion of current services, evaluates office design, patient flow and access. Participates in setting both short and long term goals for the practice business plan. Provides monthly reports of office efficiency and access including goals and uses patient satisfaction and evidence based care for strategic plan. Demonstrates accountability for ensuring availability of resources necessary to ensure positive patient outcomes.
  • Complete annual and 90-day evaluations on time. Develop career plans with team members including discipline and plans for improvement. Facilitate the Business Practice Assessment including participation and analysis of results and plan for improvement based on results of survey. Facilitates monthly proactive meeting with physicians to review financials and other operational issues to ensure the practices are running smoothly and financially strong. Participates/oversees the planning and monitoring of the budget for defined areas to include appropriate resource allocation determination.
  • Assures quality of service and access by developing strategic business plan with physicians and director and management of daily operations. Monitors practice compliance to quality indicators and coding compliance. Oversees the completeness and accuracy of medical records for continuity of care and timely service.

Qualifications

Education
  • Bachelors Degree, nursing or relevant field (Required)

Experience
  • 1 year Recent relevant experience (Required)
  • 1 year Supervisory experience (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) (Preferred)
