An internship opportunity is offered for a forward-thinking intern to develop cloud native applications within an investment analytics team at Allianz Global Investors. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional setting with a focus on application development, system integration, and data handling.

The intern will contribute to new functionality development, support integration tasks, implement user interfaces, and collaborate closely with the development team. The internship lasts 3 months with optional extension and offers mentoring, exposure to modern engineering practices, and a dynamic international work environment.

What you do

• Contribute to the development and implementation of new functionality as part of an ongoing consolidation project
• Support system integration tasks by connecting existing services, applications, and data sources in a reliable and maintainable way
• Help implement user interface components with a focus on usability, clarity, and alignment with existing design standards
• Implement and execute tests to ensure code quality, stability, and correctness
• Support data handling and storage-related tasks, including working with databases and cloud storage solutions
• Collaborate closely with the development team to clarify requirements, resolve technical issues, and continuously improve solutions.

What you bring

• You are currently a Master’s student in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a closely related field
• Hands-on experience in application development using Python, with a strong focus on writing clean, maintainable, and efficient code
• Prior experience in building cloud native applications on container-based platforms such as Azure Kubernetes Services
• Solid understanding of modern data technologies, including SQL and NoSQL databases, as well as cloud-based storage solutions
• Familiarity with API lifecycle management and experience developing RESTful web APIs
• Working knowledge of software development processes and common ALM tools like GitHub and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong attention to detail, a structured working approach, and a desire to learn
• A collaborative and empathetic team player with a flexible, proactive, and self-reliant mindset
• Proficiency in English
• Ability to use Microsoft Copilot, with a strong commitment to ethical and responsible AI practices.
