Are you a natural joy-maker with a passion for bringing people together? Norwood Towers Post Acute is looking for an energetic, creative, and organized Activities Director to inject fun, laughter, and meaningful connection into our residents' daily lives!
If you love planning events, celebrating life's moments, and turning everyday routines into vibrant experiences, we want you to lead our fun department this spring and beyond!
🎨 What You’ll Do (The Fun Stuff!)
Chief Party Planner: Design, develop, and host resident-centered activity calendars packed with everything from lively group outings and crafts to specialized in-room fun for bed-bound residents.
Community Connector: Build bridges between our residents, their families, our staff, and the local community to create a warm, inclusive, and buzzing environment.
Champion of Hobbies: Spark inspiration! Encourage self-initiated fun like reading, gardening, or new hobbies, ensuring everyone has the materials they need (including audio or Braille books).
Adventure Coordinator: Map out and arrange smooth transportation for exciting local outings, appointments, and special resident events.
The Dream Team Leader: Assist in managing, supervising, and inspiring our fantastic activity staff.
📋 The Serious (but Important) Details
Compliance & Safety: Stay in the loop with state/federal regulations to keep our programs top-notch and actively participate in facility surveys and safety committees.
Care & Collaboration: Dive into resident assessments and care/discharge planning, ensuring activities align perfectly with individual health and wellness goals.
Sharp Documentation: Keep accurate, informative, and timely progress notes tracking how much our residents are enjoying and blooming in your programs.
🌟 What You Bring to the Team
The Certification: A required Activity Director Certification to show you know your stuff!
The Experience: A High School Diploma (or equivalent); bonus points if you have a year or more of experience blooming in a long-term care setting.
The Mindset: A knack for practical problem-solving, basic math skills (ratios, percentages, and fractions for budgets/planning), and excellent communication skills to pitch big ideas.
The Energy: This is an active role! You’ll be standing, walking, balancing, and occasionally lifting up to 50 lbs. to set up events and keep the energy moving.
