Student Custodian – Part-time
Position Purpose
Provide support for custodial services for PTS facilities. Provide a clean, comfortable and safe environment for all district sites, associated buildings and adjacent grounds while promoting the mission of Perry Township Schools.
Essential Functions
Responsible for routine custodial duties in all areas of the building
Respond to spills, accidents, etc. that require immediate custodial attention
Responsible for maintaining custodial closets in a clean and orderly condition
Responsible for providing assistance to maintenance personnel when directed
Perform related or special tasks as assigned by the Head Custodian and School Administrator
If working the daytime shift, responsible for snow removal from the exterior entry door areas and exterior sidewalks out to the curb. Spread sand, salt or other chemicals to prevent slipping
Perform general manual labor tasks including loading, unloading, lifting and moving materials
Promote an environment free of harassment and discrimination
Demonstrate a commitment to work
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Demonstrate good judgment and common sense
Available to work additional hours to meet the needs of the position
Other duties may be assigned
Equipment
Use hand tools of trade and related power equipment, including brooms, mops, floor cleaning and
waxing machines, vacuum cleaners, snow blowers, and snow shovelsOperate equipment and machinery in a fashion to provide a safe environment
Responsible for maintaining assigned custodial equipment in clean, operationally ready condition and reporting any repairs needed to the Head Custodian
Pay Rate
$14.00 per hour

Part-time (19 hours per week maximum)
