Job Summary
Synechron is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer with 8+ years of hands-on expertise in building, automating, and managing CI/CD pipelines and cloud infrastructure. This key role will support our drive toward engineering excellence, innovation, and operational reliability. The successful candidate will be a champion of automation, cloud delivery, and best-in-class DevOps practices, collaborating across teams to create robust, scalable, and secure platforms for critical business applications.
Software Requirements
Required Tools & Proficiency
AWS Cloud Platform (strong, demonstrable experience managing deployments)
Harness (must have in-depth, hands-on experience)
Jenkins (pipeline automation and orchestration)
Terraform (infrastructure as code for cloud provisioning)
Git-based version control (Bitbucket or GitHub–admin and repo management)
Python (for automation and scripting tasks)
Preferred/Bonus Skills
CI/CD tools: GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines
Containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
System monitoring and alerting (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana)
Experience with security compliance and cloud governance frameworks
Overall Responsibilities
Design, implement, and manage advanced CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Harness, and Bitbucket Pipelines
Automate infrastructure provisioning and environment configuration using Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
Deploy, manage, and monitor applications on AWS, ensuring reliability, scalability, and security
Collaborate with development and QA teams to accelerate release cycles and enable continuous integration/delivery
Manage source code repositories and branching strategies with GitHub or Bitbucket
Lead incident response efforts and quickly resolve build, deployment, and infrastructure issues
Implement best practices in DevOps, automation, monitoring, and security compliance
Continuously optimize infrastructure and pipeline performance
Participate in architectural decisions and recommend new DevOps tools and workflows

Cloud Technologies:
Essential: AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, VPC, RDS, IAM, CloudFormation, CloudWatch, etc.)
Infrastructure Automation:
Essential: Terraform (provisioning, modules), Harness (deployment automation, pipeline configuration)
CI/CD & Source Control:
Essential: Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Bitbucket
Preferred: GitHub Actions, Bitbucket Pipelines

Security Protocols (Preferred):
IAM, SSL/TLS, RBAC
Experience Requirements
Minimum 8 years in a DevOps or cloud infrastructure role
Proven experience with AWS, Terraform, Jenkins, GitHub/Bitbucket, and Harness managing critical production applications
Strong understanding of modern DevOps practices and systems automation within cloud environments
Experience troubleshooting and optimizing deployments in fast-paced, large-scale production settings
Prior experience implementing security policies and compliance controls in the DevOps lifecycle
Industry experience in finance, banking, or large, cloud-centric enterprise environments is a plus
Alternative experience: Significant success in major public cloud DevOps projects
Day-to-Day Activities
Design, automate, and improve end-to-end CI/CD and infrastructure processes
Review and merge code, manage pull requests, and maintain repository hygiene
Troubleshoot and resolve build, deployment, or production issues promptly
Optimize automation scripts, infrastructure modules, and security controls
Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and cross-team project reviews
Guide developers and QA on DevOps best practices; offer technical support as needed
Maintain up-to-date system documentation and DevOps knowledge bases
Proactively identify and automate manual or repetitive tasks
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
8+ years of relevant experience in DevOps and cloud engineering
Certifications in AWS (e.g., AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, AWS SysOps Administrator), Terraform, or related platforms are highly desirable
Continuous learning mindset, demonstrated by ongoing certification, training and engagement with the DevOps community
