Maintenance Technician 1

Position Summary

A Ziegenfelder Maintenance Technician 1 supports the reliability and performance of production equipment to ensure high-quality products are consistently produced and ready for delivery. This role focuses on equipment setup, preventive maintenance, and hands-on learning in troubleshooting and repair within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Set up and maintain production equipment to support efficient and high-quality manufacturing
  • Prepare and configure machinery for scheduled production runs
  • Learn through hands-on training to troubleshoot mechanical systems and provide immediate corrective support to production lines, conveyor systems, and related equipment
  • Monitor and maintain proper fluid levels across equipment
  • Assist with overhauls and repairs of production machinery
  • Support installation of new production equipment
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to complete maintenance tasks
  • Step in to perform Maintenance Associate duties as needed
  • Follow OSHA safety and health regulations and company safety practices
  • Maintain responsibility for food safety and product quality standards

What You Will Need

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and interest in maintenance work
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from experienced team members
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work any shift as needed

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for up to 8 hours per shift
  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds regularly
  • Frequent bending, twisting, reaching, and grasping
  • Strong spatial awareness when working around production equipment
  • Ability to work in cold environments below 32°F for extended periods with proper protective equipment
  • Ability to work in environments with noise levels above 85 decibels with proper protection

Working Conditions

  • Exposure to cold temperatures below 32°F for extended periods
  • Exposure to elevated noise levels requiring protective equipment
