Job Summary
Fraser Heath is seeking to fill an interim Medical Lead position which provides leadership and direction to the members of the Department of Addiction Medicine and Substance Use Services (AMSUS).
The Medical Lead will report to and be accountable to the MHSU Program Medical Director and Regional Department Head, Addiction Medicine and Substance Use Services
The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide leadership and medical oversight of the Regional Bed Based Withdraw Management Centres and Services.
- Ensure addiction medicine services are provided in alignment with regional evidence base and evidence informed standards of care.
- Liaise with other Addiction Medicine medical leads to ensure appropriate service provision throughout the region.
- In collaboration with the Program Medical Director, Addiction Medicine and Substance Use Services, develop quality improvement strategies.
- Participate in the Regional MHSU committee meetings.
- Ensure the requirements of programs operating within the department are coordinated
- Maintain regular communication with operational leaders, other physician leads and staff physicians within the department.
- Attend the MHSU regional meetings.
- Oversee a program of quality monitoring.
- Promote health and wellness amongst Members.
- Encourage a healthy, respectful workplace.
- Review with the AMSUS Program Medical Director the human resource requirements of the Regional Department practicing within the facility.
Qualifications: The successful candidate must:
- Have current licensure with CPSBC and current CMPA coverage
- Have CCFP or FRCPC
- Be an active medical staff member of the Fraser Health Authority Mental Health and Substance Use Program
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.

Remuneration: Stipend
Term: Two years (Renewable by the Program Medical Director/Regional Department Head).
