Global Merchant and Network Services (GMNS) is the merchant acquirer, processor, and marketing partner for the millions of merchants around the world who accept American Express Cards.

 
The Strategy, Planning & Enablement (SP&E) Analyst role is an integral part of the Global Strategy, Operations & Performance (GSOP) SP&E team that supports GMNS business performance through merchant data analysis, sales performance insights, and enhancement of tracking capabilities across Merchant Force and related reporting ecosystems.

The successful candidate should have a strong technical, analytical, and process-oriented mindset. They should feel comfortable collaborating with internal customers across the globe and demonstrate thought leadership and professionalism while performing job responsibilities.

  • Analyze Merchant Force and related sales datasets to identify gaps, inconsistencies, and opportunities to improve tracking accuracy for SIP, BCV, and sales performance reporting.
  • Develop actionable insights and analytics to support market leaders in identifying sales opportunities, portfolio trends, merchant behaviors, and performance improvement actions.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance existing reports, streamline processes, and produce new reporting insights, in partnership with global and regional stakeholders.
  • Support the annual Planning Process which includes forecasting, target setting and management of incentive programs.
  • Support ad-hoc analytical requests and rapidly respond to evolving business questions with data-driven recommendations.
  • Documentation of programming codes, processes, reports and project deliverables.
  • Support management reporting and presentation development for leadership reviews. 

Qualificiations:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.

 

Technical skills: 

  • SQL programming 
  • Tableau 
  • Advanced user of Excel and Power-point.
  • Comfortable working with large, complex datasets and transforming data into meaningful business insights.
  • Strong communication / influencing skills and ability to build relationships across teams.
  • Self-starter with exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to work well under stress and meet tight deadlines.
  • Comfortable adapting to changing priorities and processes.
  • Exposure to reporting, business analytics, and project coordination/management activities. 
  • Experience with Merchant Force, sales incentive reporting, merchant performance analytics, or CRM-based sales datasets is preferred.
