
Mammography Technologist-Atlantic Health Imaging Services @ Parsippany-Full Time: Mon-Fri 8a-4p
Job Description
Performs mammographic procedures according to state, federal and department standards and guidelines. Reviews patient records and ensures all pertinent information is completed and available for Radiologist. Performs mammographic examinations, bone density and x-ray procedures with a high standard of accuracy in positioning and technical factors.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Practices universal precautions, and aseptic technique to prevent cross contamination.
- Adheres to all department policies and procedures.
- Able to work independently and possess strong critical thinking skills.
- Maintains a responsive/respectful relationship with staff and patients.
- Assesses and responds to patients physical, sociological/psychological needs.
- Explains all procedures in a clear and concise manner.
- Understands and respects cultural differences.
- Demonstrates PRIDE values. Demonstrates working knowledge of all department equipment.
- Performs and completes all computer functions (i.e. Epic, PACS) in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintains required licensure and CME’s per MQSA. Ensures QA/documents are up to date for site inspections. Practices ALARA.
- Maintains cleanliness of assigned work area and equipment. Ensures assigned area is properly stocked with adequate supplies and required materials necessary to perform procedures.
- All other duties as assigned by AIS Management.
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be able to effectively work in a high-volume team environment.
- Ability to learn new tasks quickly and have problem solving skills, while meeting daily productivity targets.
- Must be detail oriented and well organized.
- Proficiency in Epic and Sectra PACS is preferred - can be obtained via training/introductory period.
Required:
1. Graduate of an NJDEP approved radiography program.
2. 1 year of experience in Mammography preferred.
3. ARRT in Radiologic Technology and Mammography required.
4. CPR Certified (BLS).
