First Shift (United States of America)

Surgical Technologist - Bellevue Hospital Location

As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in supporting the surgical team by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting during procedures. You will be responsible for setting up surgical instruments, sterile drapes, and equipment, ensuring all supplies are properly sterilized and ready for use. During surgery, you will assist the surgeon by passing instruments, sutures, and other materials while maintaining strict sterile technique to prevent infection. You will be expected to anticipate the needs of the surgical team to promote an efficient workflow and ensure patient safety by accurately counting instruments, sponges, and needles before and after procedures.

Work Schedule: Day Shift - Full Time

  • First shift hours are 7:00 AM - 5:30 PM, Monday -Friday with a floating day off

  • 5 to 8 hour call shifts per month are required including some weekend shift

Required Qualifications:

  • High school education or equivalent required.

  • Surgical Tech Certification REQUIRED with NO previous work experience as a surgical technologist

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (BLS with skills assessment or approved BLS) upon completion of unit orientation required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of various surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies/materials, all patient care equipment and supplies, policy, procedure, and protocol manuals, audio-visual, video, and microscopic equipment, computers, telecommunication equipment, and wall/ceiling and tanked medical gases preferred.

  • For some clinical areas, the ability to speak, read, and write in English and Spanish may be preferred.
