
Business Intelligence Pod Lead
Job Description
This is a hybrid position (4 days per week in office and 1 day remote). This opportunity is based out of the North York location at 243 Consumers Rd, North York, ON M2J 4W8 (near Hwy. 404 and Hwy. 401).

As part of our BI, AI and Data team, we are hiring a BI Pod Lead, a senior role responsible for leading the BI & Reporting function and driving the team's evolution from reactive report delivery to a trusted, decision enabling analytics capability. This role leads a pod of BI developers and analysts, owns the technical and governance standards for the BI function, and partners closely with the Director of BI, AI & Data to execute the organization's analytics strategy.
In this role, you will:
- Lead and Develop the BI Pod
- Manage and mentor a team of BI developers and analysts, setting clear expectations and fostering technical growth
- Run structured code and report reviews, acting as the primary quality authority within the pod
- Facilitate sprint planning, workload prioritization, and delivery against team commitments
- Build team capability through coaching, pairing, and internal knowledge sharing sessions
- Support Intake and Prioritization
- Manage the BI intake pipeline, triaging incoming requests, applying the scoring model, and sequencing work against strategic priorities
- Partner with the Director to communicate capacity, timelines, and delivery status to business stakeholders
- Drive Reporting Quality and Governance
- Own and enforce development standards across Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and semantic data modeling
- Lead the build and ongoing maintenance of the governed Report and Metric Catalog (L1/L2/L3 hierarchy)
- Standardize metric definitions across Lifemark domains
- Implement peer review and sign off gates before reports are promoted to production
- Lead the rationalization of the existing Power BI report estate, retiring low quality and unused reports in partnership with business stakeholders
- Enable Scalable Self Service Analytics
- Establish a self service framework built on trusted, governed datasets and certified report assets
- Balance business user flexibility with strong governance guardrails
- Enable analytics at scale without sacrificing credibility or consistency
What we're looking for:
- 7+ years of experience in BI, analytics, or reporting roles, with at least 2 years in a team lead or senior individual contributor capacity
- Demonstrated experience with agile delivery practices and structured intake/prioritization frameworks
- Excellent communication skills, able to translate technical work into business language for executive and operational audiences
- Strong people leadership skills, able to coach, develop, and hold a team accountable with empathy and clarity
- Deep hands-on expertise in Power BI, DAX, Power Query, and dimensional/semantic data modeling
- Demonstrated experience establishing and enforcing BI governance frameworks, standards, and quality practices
- Proven ability to deliver complex, multi stakeholder analytics products on time and to standard
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure data platform is a strong asset
- Healthcare or enterprise analytics experience is a strong asset
- Experience with Python, PowerApps and Power Automate knowledge is an asset.
