Job Description

Job Description:Own and define the overall tolerance concept for complete eAxle systems (geartrain, differential, bearings, shafts, housings, e-motor interfaces).Lead 3D tolerance stack-up analyses (nominal, worst-case, statistical/Monte-Carlo).Act as tolerance decision authority for functional gaps, bearing preload, gear meshing, alignment, and NVH-critical characteristics.Define GD&T strategies aligned to functional intent, manufacturing capability, and cost targets.Review, approve, and govern 2D drawings and 3D PMI as per ISO GPS / ASME Y14.5.Drive standardization of datums, tolerance schemas, and best practices across projects.Partner with Design, CAE, Manufacturing, Quality, Supplier Development, and Purchasing.Contribute to DRBFM, Design Reviews, DfR, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, and CCB discussions.Represent tolerance engineering in technical deep dives with OEMs and global stakeholders (India, Germany, China).Enable localization, second-source, and cost-reduction initiatives through tolerance optimization.Lead supplier tolerance concept reviews, feasibility analysis, and capability alignment (Cp/Cpk driven).Support deviation management, root cause analysis, and corrective actions related to dimensional issues.Ensure correlation between virtual tolerance simulations and physical builds.Support SOP, ramp-up, and field issues related to assembly variation, noise, vibration, and durability.Mentor teams in problem-solving using dimensional engineering principles.Required Skills:Tools / Software Skills:VisVSAISO GPS, GD&TMonte-Carlo SimulationUG-NXTeamcenterISO GPS / ASME Y14.5APQP, PPAP, FMEA, DRBFMAutomotive QMS (IATF 16949 basics)Technical Skills:Aptitude for developing solutions based on tolerance analysisOptimize designs and ensure that tolerances are achievable in manufacturing.Strong knowledge of GD&T (ISO / ASME)Expertise in 3D tolerance stack-up analysisUnderstanding of exle, gearbox, differential, bearing, and shaft assembliesExperience with eAxle / transmission / driveline systems (preferred)Methodology & Soft Skills:Strong analytical and problem-solving mindsetClear cross-functional communicationAbility to explain tolerance concepts to non-expertsStructured, process-oriented working styleExperience in global collaboration (India / Germany / China advantage)
