We’re seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Casual Commis Chef to join our kitchen team on a flexible basis. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about food and eager to develop their culinary skills within a professional and supportive environment.
You will play an important role in supporting the kitchen brigade, ensuring dishes are prepared to a high standard while maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient workspace. The role requires attention to detail, a willingness to learn, and the ability to perform in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
What you will do
Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes in line with recipes and standards
Support senior chefs with daily kitchen operations
Ensure all food is prepared, presented, and stored correctly
Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in all kitchen areas
Follow food safety, health, and safety procedures at all times
Assist with stock rotation and deliveries as required
Keep workstations clean, organised, and fully stocked
Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to deliver smooth service
What You’ll Bring
Previous kitchen or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential – full training will be provided
A genuine passion for food and willingness to learn
Positive attitude with strong work ethic
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under pressure
Strong team player with good communication skills
Attention to detail and commitment to quality
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and work in a busy kitchen
