
Development Coordinator
Job Description
The International Institute of St. Louis is seeking a detail-oriented and mission-driven Development Coordinator to support our fundraising, donor engagement, and grant efforts. This role plays a vital part in advancing our mission to support and empower immigrant and refugee communities across the St. Louis region.
Key Responsibilities
Donor Stewardship

Manage gift acknowledgments and thank-you communications

Coordinate donor updates and impact reports

Support donor events and appreciation efforts

Maintain and utilize donor database (Salesforce) for accurate records and reports
-
Reconcile donations with financial records and monthly reports
-
Lead donor appeals and email/mail campaigns
-
Assist with donor engagement materials and outreach
Grant Writing & Management

Research prospective funding opportunities
-
Write and submit grant proposals and reports
-
Track grant deadlines, deliverables, and outcomes
Third-Party & Small Development Events

Serve as point of contact for external fundraising efforts

Support planning and logistics of smaller-scale development events

Assist with promotion and coordination
General Development Support

Collaborate with the marketing team on donor materials

Maintain development calendar and activity tracking
-
Contribute to strategic fundraising and outreach initiatives

Partner with volunteers, communications, and external relations staff to foster community engagement
Additional Duties

Assist with organizational tours and events
-
Represent the Institute at community outreach or marketing opportunities
-
Perform other duties as needed to support department and organizational goals
Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)

At least 2 years of nonprofit development or grant writing experience
Skills & Abilities

Excellent written and verbal communication

Highly organized and detail-oriented
-
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills

Proficiency with MS Office and Salesforce required

Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines

Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
