PermanentWhat you'll be doing:
In this role, you’ll take end‑to‑end ownership of complex financial provision calculations that are critical to accurate reporting and strong financial governance. You’ll combine deep accounting expertise with advanced analytical and technical skills to design, build, and maintain smart, automated solutions—using data, automation, and AI—to improve accuracy, efficiency, and insight. Working largely independently, you’ll partner with global finance, IT, and digital teams to simplify processes, ensure audit readiness, and continuously elevate the way finance operates across Avon’s Global Business Services.Key responsibilities:
- Owning complex provision calculations such as inventory obsolescence and other high‑impact accounting estimates across COGS, inventory, and revenue.
- Supporting monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring reconciliations are accurate, compliant, and audit‑ready.
- Designing and maintaining advanced databases, automated models, and macro‑based tools to support accounting operations.
- Identifying opportunities to apply automation and AI across accounting processes, including reconciliations, anomaly detection, matching, and accruals.
- Partnering with IT and Digital teams to integrate AI and machine‑learning solutions into finance workflows.
- Leading initiatives to standardise, simplify, and harmonise complex or manual accounting processes.
- Performing root‑cause analysis on reconciliation issues and building automated solutions to eliminate recurring problems.
- Maintaining strong documentation and governance for all models and tools, and supporting internal and external audits.
What we're looking for:
- 3–5+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations, automation, or a related analytical role, at a level equivalent to Senior Accountant.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong accounting knowledge, particularly in provisions, reconciliations, and inventory‑related processes.
- Advanced Excel skills, including complex formulas, VBA, Power Query, and Power Pivot.
- Experience developing databases and working with tools such as SQL or Access.
- Hands‑on experience with automation or AI tools (such as Python, Power Automate, or machine learning models) is a strong advantage.
- Advanced English skills.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem‑solving ability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently, manage complex tasks, and thrive in a changing environment.
- A curious, proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement.
